NuVescor Advises Industrial Robotics Solutions and Reseller (SCC Machinery) on its sale to an Individual Buyer

NuVescor Advises Industrial Robotics Solutions and Reseller (SCC Machinery)

on its sale to an Individual Buyer

GRAND RAPIDS, MINuVescor Group is pleased to announce the successful sale of SCC Machinery. Inc., of Norton Shores, MI, to a key employee from the Company.

SCC Machinery, Inc., established in 2004, came from a need for an automation and robotics reseller in the manufacturing marketplace. The owner was looking for used equipment for his plastics manufacturing company and could not find many sources. From that experience, the owner started dabbling in buying and selling robotics, and he grew the endeavor into a business.

SCC Machinery is now under the ownership of Jeremy King, a key employee since 2009. Mr. King began working with the former owner initially learning to repair and refurbish robots and eventually managed the day to day operations of the business.

Mr. King has had an interest in acquiring SCC Machinery for a number of years as he sees the growth potential of robots and automation. It is a growth market that is showing “no signs of slowing down in our lifetimes,” said Mr. King. A key aspect of the business that he particularly enjoys is helping first time robot buyers select the robot that best fits their process and budget. A future service that Mr. King may add is robot integration.

Serge Cousin, the former owner of SCC Machinery, is excited to see the business in the hands of his former employee. “I wanted to see the business go into the hands of someone who understands the business, the market and how to provide top level service to our customers. Jeremy has been working at SCC Machinery for years and I knew he was the right person for that role. I am excited to see where he takes it.”

“Once we determined that the ideal outcome was the transfer of ownership to Mr. King, we were quickly able to come to a win-win structure for both parties,” said Kelly Thomas, Prep & Closing Specialist at NuVescor. “All parties got on board quickly with the process and we were able to go from a signed letter of intent to close in under 30 days.”

“It is always rewarding to take part in a transaction where the legacy of the business remains intact,” said Randy Rua, President of NuVescor, “An internal sale has its own set of challenges, but when you have alignment and an established relationship and trust, the challenges can be addressed and overcome.”
